The 2012 Best American Short Stories notables list includes Pete Duval’s “I, Budgie,” Viet Dinh’s “The Ruined City,” and Peter Orner’s “Plaza Revolution, Mexico City, 6 a.m.” All three stories were first published in Witness’s “Blurring Borders” issue (Vol. XXIV No. 1).
