Call for Submissions: Volume XXIII

Witness welcomes submissions for our 2010 issue, which will feature a special portfolio focusing on literature and film. In addition to general submissions, we welcome work that addresses any intersection between these two genres.

Duraj story to appear in 2009 PEN/O. Henry anthology

"Terrible Driver" by Halina Duraj (XXI) will be listed along with four other pieces as a recommended story in the PEN/O.Henry Prize Stories 2009, to be published in May 2009 by Anchor Books.

Miller collection wins McCarthy Prize

Alyce Miller's Water: Nine Stories won the 2006 Mary McCarthy Prize in short fiction, selected by Norman Rush, and has just been released by Sarabande Books.
