Michele Micklewright's poetry and essays emerge from her work on the borders: barrios in Venezuela and Mexico, inner city nursing homes and shelters,and suburban hospitals and hospices. As a spiritual director and integrative care chaplain, she has accompanied community members as they journey with transition, change, and loss. Her work has been used in ministry settings and published in Listen: A Seekers' Guide, Chaplaincy Today, Vision, Maryknoll, Minnesota Women's Press, and is forthcoming in Scintilla Press and Poetry Wednesdays. She is a recipient of a writing grant with the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research, an Intermedia Arts/Jerome Emerging Writer Grant, and a Bush Leader Fellowship.
