Noelle Q. de Jesus was born in New Haven, Connecticut but raised in Manila in the Philippines, and she has lived in Singapore since 2000. Her stories have appeared in Puerto del Sol, Feminist Studies and Mud Season Review. Her book, Blood Collected Stories (Ethos Books Singapore 2015), won the 2016 Next Generation Indie Book Award for the short story. “Dreams in English” is part of her second, yet unpublished short story collection, Cursed and Other Stories. She has an MFA from Bowling Green State University and is working on her first novel.
